Janet is a landscape designer based in Berkeley, CA. Passionate about environmental stewardship, access to healthy food and habitat restoration, she specializes in pollinator habitat and edible gardens! Knowledgable about native and mediterranean plants, Janet designs gardens that are low water, pollinator friendly and ecologically grounded.

EDUCATION

Born and raised in the Berkeley, Janet has always been fascinated by California native plants and pollinators. She completed her Permaculture certification at Merritt College, as well as two Associate’s degrees in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Construction. She then transferred to UC Berkeley, where she studies Landscape Architecture and Conservation. Janet continues her education through additional certification programs, like the Pollinator Steward Certification from Pollinator Partnership.

EXPERIENCE

Janet has worked at several firms (both as an assistant designer and lead designer) over the years before pursuing a career as a freelance landscape designer in 2025.
